HERMES HOUSE BAND

Hermes House Band

Over the past 20 years, the Hermes House Band has become Europe’s number one party band, selling more than 8 million records in over 25 countries. Touring year-round, they entertain crowds all around the world. Their singles “I Will Survive,” “Country Roads,” “Live Is Life,” and “Rhythm of the Night” have reached the top of the charts in numerous countries.

How it all began: Rotterdam, 1984 – a group of students decided to form a band. Their first performance took place at the student association “Hermes,” marking the birth of the Hermes House Band and the start of an incredible journey. Early shows and CD releases quickly propelled the band into the Dutch student scene, where over the next decade they earned a reputation as a top party band through countless thrilling performances.

In 1994, the unbelievable happened: their independently released single “I Will Survive / lalala” became a No.1 hit in the Netherlands, soon followed by success in other European countries. The “lalala” sing-along hook was adopted in France by Les Bleus as the anthem for their 1998 FIFA World Cup victory, topping the French charts. The song repeated this feat in 2018 when France won the World Cup again, cementing its place in French history.

Other European countries quickly followed. Their party remake of John Denver’s classic “Country Roads” reached the Top 10 in Germany, the UK, and many other countries, and has since become a classic in its own right.

In the following years, HHB focused on their international career, releasing numerous hit singles and albums worldwide. They collaborated with famous artists such as DJ Ötzi, Tony Christie, and Jürgen Drews, and even teamed up with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra for a unique combination of classical music and party hits!

For the past five years, the Hermes House Band has also been available in a joint live show with world star Lou Bega. This amazing live concept, born from a long friendship between the artists, features HHB singers Sally and Jop as well as Lou Bega, performing both solo and together, delivering countless hits.

In recent years, the band has focused on live performances and the development of new concepts and ideas. Lead singers Jop Wijlacker and Sally Flissinger remain at the forefront, supported by five fantastic musicians, ensuring the party never stops.

With 25 years of experience, one thing is certain: They Will Survive!
